Vape Wattage Calculator & Vape Wattage Chart

Some types of e-cigarettes allow the adult user to alter the wattage (power) of the device to achieve different vaping experiences. If you’re new to vaping, you might be wondering whether vape wattage really matters and what wattage should I vape at? In this handy vape wattage guide, we’ll help you find the best wattage for vaping and how to calculate vape wattage.

Why alter vape wattage?

Wattage is a measure of electrical power and, when we’re talking about vapes, defines the experience, by altering the temperature of the e-liquid as it heats. In vaping, wattage can be personally tuned to suit personal preferences - meaning there’s no golden rule or a uniform best wattage for vaping.

Altering the vape wattage on your device until you get the vapour and flavour just right can help to improve the overall vaping experience. There’s plenty of room to explore and find what suits you best in the future. However, not every vape is designed to allow the user to adjust wattage.

What is the best wattage for vaping?

There are plenty of factors to consider when finding the best wattage for vaping. This includes wire types, pods and tank systems. There’s no right or wrong option, it all comes down to personal preference. That’s why you should explore different options and find what vape wattage suits you, even if it takes a bit of time.

When it comes to calculating your vape wattage, there’s a few factors to consider:

Watts

Watts define the electrical power of a system. This is an important, interchangeable factor in vapes.

Ohms

When talking about vape wattage, it’s important to consider Ohms. Ohms are a measurement of resistance, a significant factor in electricity and, therefore, also in vapes. One crucial aspect to know about is that resistance varies between vapes.

Volts

Simply put, volts are another way of measuring electricity. It goes hand in hand with Ohms and watts - and defines the voltage in electricity. Higher voltage translates to higher watts and therefore more power in your vape.

Volts, Ohms, and watts are linked through Ohm’s law. This might seem familiar, because it’s a widely used formula for calculations regarding electricity.

What Is a Vaping Calculator?

A vaping calculator is a tool that should help you work out some of the potentially more complex aspects of vaping. This includes the preparation of e-liquid and the correct maintenance of a device.

Some adult vapers might be interested in working out the optimal resistance for their coil, which is an important component in some vapes. Vapes should be set with the correct resistance (for the coil), wattage, volts, and currents in order to operate in an optimal way.

Always follow manufacturer guidance. Modification of devices can have unintended consequences so it’s best to use your device as the manufacturer intends. Adult vapers could calculate the right values for their device with an Ohm’s chart or a vape wattage calculator, like the one below:

Is there an easier method than a vape wattage chart?

There are many vape wattage calculators available online which claim to show the optimum vape wattage for different devices. If you’re finding calculating vape wattage too complicated and confusing, there are other alternatives to smoking which don’t require any adjustments or modifications.

There are vaping products, such as ‘pod-based systems’ on the market. Pod vape systems are comprised of two components – a pod filled with vape liquid and a small battery to which this is inserted into. Pods can be available in either pre-filled designs or can be refillable. A lot of these pod based systems simply snap into place and are ready to go, without needing to worry about vape wattage.

IQOS - No Calculating Required

If the complexities of vape systems and vape wattage sounds like something you’d prefer to avoid, there are devices on the market that may be more suitable for a more convenient vaping experience. However, the best decision any adult smoker can make is to quit tobacco and nicotine use altogether. Smoke-free products are not alternatives to quitting and are not designed as cessation aids.

Heated tobacco is a smoke-free alternative for adult smokers who would otherwise continue to smoke. Utilising heat-not-burn technology, IQOS works with real tobacco. However, they do not burn tobacco as cigarettes do. Instead, they heat it to a controlled temperature. This prevents the need for combustion – responsible for thousands of harmful carcinogens and chemicals found in cigarette smoke.

Switching completely to IQOS is less harmful than continuing to smoke. IQOS emits on average 95% lower levels of harmful chemicals compared to cigarettes.*

Important information: IQOS is not risk-free and provides nicotine, which is addictive.

*Average reductions in levels of a range of harmful chemicals (excluding nicotine) compared to the smoke of a reference cigarette. It does not necessarily equal a 95% reduction in risk.
