Heatsticks? The word you’re searching for is HEETS!

By Neil Goddard

If you’re looking to find out more about heat sticks – tobacco sticks which are heated instead of burned – you’ve come to the right place. IQOS heated tobacco sticks are called HEETS in the UK.

What are HEETS?

HEETS – also referred to as heat sticks in other countries – are tobacco sticks designed for use in IQOS devices. They are an alternative to smoking cigarettes.
With an IQOS device, advanced technology heats the HEETS stick to an optimum temperature to release a vapour which contains nicotine and natural tobacco flavour, without burning the tobacco. This process results in emission of 95% less harmful chemicals compared to cigarettes.*

What are HEETS made of?

Heatsticks – or HEETS – are made with natural tobacco leaf to give an authentic experience, similar to conventional cigarettes. HEETS aren’t e-cigarettes or vapes, and they don’t contain vape juice or e-juice.

How long does a heatstick last?

IQOS and HEETS were designed to provide you with tobacco satisfaction and duration similar to the one you get from cigarettes. Each HEETS stick can last up to 6 minutes or 14 puffs, a duration similar to that of a cigarette. And the way you puff impacts how long HEETS last. Longer and gentler puffs would extend the duration from your HEETS.

How are HEETS different from conventional tobacco products?

Heat sticks differ from conventional cigarettes in several ways:
• Tobacco is heated, not burned, meaning 95% less harmful chemicals compared to cigarettes*.
• A vapour is released through heating, instead of smoke through burning.
• Cigarettes can be smoked independently, while HEETS require an IQOS device to heat them.
• HEETS do not leave a residual smoke smell on your clothes, hair, breath or surroundings like cigarettes do.
At £5 a pack, HEETS tobacco sticks are less than half the price of conventional cigarettes**.
